App data collection
Veil has no developer-run accounts, app servers or third-party analytics SDKs. The app does not send your screen, files, passwords or usage data to the developer. Core features work offline. Apple services operate under their own policies.
Locally Stored Data
Settings, shortcuts and imported images stay local. Passwords are stored as a random salt and PBKDF2-SHA256 verification hash, never as plain text. Veil never asks for your macOS password.
Screen Recording & Captures
Screen Recording is requested only for the Screenshot mode. Captures live in RAM, are released when the cover ends, and are NEVER uploaded or saved to disk.
Custom Images and Presets
Imported images stay local. Exported preset files may contain these images, but no passwords or screenshots. Check your files before sharing them.
Purchases and Apple
Pro purchases are handled by Apple StoreKit. Veil does not access your payment info, cards, or Apple passwords.
System Permissions & Power
Keep Awake uses a temporary system power assertion released when the cover ends. It does not permanently change sleep or privacy settings.
Data Deletion & Management
Passwords can be cleared in settings. Users can manually delete image and preset caches in the local directory.
Website hosting and visits
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It has no advertising, third-party analytics or behavioral tracking and does not set cookies itself. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request times and technical logs for delivery, operation and security under its own privacy policy.
Children & Policy Updates
No child-directed data collection mechanisms. Updates will be posted here if data handling changes.
